There’s always one week late in every college football season that stuns everyone. Top 5 BCS teams fall, unheralded teams make a stand, and the late-season rankings are turned on their heads.

In other words – we really should have seen Week 13 coming. While SidelineMOB accurately predicted the Baylor Bears going down at Oklahoma State, we couldn’t have seen the Florida Gators losing to an FCS school (Georgia Southern). We didn’t see the mighty Oregon Ducks losing their 2nd game in 3 weeks, this one to the Arizona Wildcats.

Add in Arizona State formally knocking UCLA out of the Pac-12 race, the Michigan Wolverines losing their 4th game of the year, Georgia QB Aaron Murray‘s college career ending on an injury, and three SEC schools inside the top 5 of the new BCS standings (and our rankings as well), and Week 13 of the 2013 college football season did everything it could to upset the natural order of things.

As for our SidelineMOB rankings, we’ve made a few changes. In light of yet another loss to a ranked team (LSU), we decided to finally see the Texas A&M Aggies for what they are – Johnny Manziel, Mike Evans, and a box of marshmallow Peeps. They’re out of our rankings. Three Big Ten schools are in the top 12 of our rankings, while both Northern Illinois and Fresno State climb into our top 15. And we’d like to welcome the East Carolina Pirates into our rankings at #25, as well as welcome back Notre Dame after a win over BYU.
